Pinot Noir Queen Maria

As a variety, Pinot Noir is a very difficult one to cultivate and transform into wine. Nevertheless, when that perfect spot is hit, this wine showcases its quality beautifully. The 2016 vintage is a great example of that, as such our Pinot Noir showcases a unique varietal character that distinguishes itself from the rest.

Nose

The interplay of cassis, red berry, and cherry are quite complementary yet also a bit dynamic; shifting to strawberry, violets and a touch of earth.

Palate

Being lighter in style, Pinot Noir is a beautiful, food-friendly wine. It typically exhibits a fruit-forward character, with strawberry, cherry, raspberry, and blackberry fruit dominating the palate.

Finish

The finish comes gracefully amidst dusty tannins, with warm spice notes that also make their way into the profile, often in the form of cinnamon, clove, and smoky tobacco nuances.

Food Pairing

The Pinot Noir goes well with mixed salads, white meat, fish, cheeses, and seafood.

RICHNESS: Dry

BLEND: 100% Pinot Noir

ALCOHOL: 12% vol.

Vintage Weather

Mild weather, coupled with plenty of cool nights, extended the growing season. In general, harvest was steady with no major rain events. Conditions were ideal.
