The word Vranec means strong, black and powerful horse (black stallion), and wine made from this grape variety is associated with strength, potency, and success. Vranec is a typical, Tikvesh wine region variety and its wines represent the character of the people who live in these areas – warm-blooded and strong. As such it’s always an incredibly special moment when we finish the final blend of our Vranec; when we’ve hit that perfect spot where the flavors, aromas, and textures reach the pinnacle of balance and expression.
Vranec Classic is characterized with unique, strong aromatic complex similar to wild forest fruits, chocolate, and liqueur. Red fruit and berries dominate the intense nose, shifting to blackberries, black cherries, and blackcurrant.
This is absolutely a promising wine; well balanced, powerful. The tannins are smooth and well integrated already, and the taste follows the aromas, full, with gentle structure and harmony.
The fruity flavors are well-integrated throughout but are best evident in the warm and intense finish of this wine.
The Vranec goes well with grilled meats, lamb, pork, game and a mix of hard cheeses.
