Vranec Queen Maria
The word Vranec means strong, black and powerful horse (black stallion), and wine made from this grape variety is associated with strength, potency, and success. Vranec is a typical, Tikvesh wine region variety and its wines represent the character of the people who live in these areas – warm-blooded and strong. As such it’s always an incredibly special moment when we finish the final blend of our Vranec; when we’ve hit that perfect spot where the flavors, aromas, and textures reach the pinnacle of balance and expression.
Our Vranec has a harmony of complex aromas similar to wild berries, rich tannins, chocolate, and liquor. Red fruit and berries dominate the intense nose, shifting to blackberries, black cherries, and blackcurrant.
Expect your palate to be greeted with flavors of black fruits, black cherries, blackberries, characterized with refreshing acidity and characteristic tannins. The taste is full, with gentle structure and harmony.
Succulent and strong, but without any suggestion of over-ripeness, enhanced by ripe tannins that add lovely texture and length on the finish.
The Vranec goes well with grilled meats, lamb, pork, game and a mix of hard chesses.
